Why choose 3D printing?

3D printing goes hand in hand with product design, with the ability to go from the digital mediums of CAD and 3D modeling, to a physical and functioning prototype in the matter of hours. Rather than putting the time to produce the product through traditional means of manufacturing, such as machining or injection molding, both labour intensive and expensive. 3D printing is a affordable and less time consuming approach to the previous means.

What type of printing and what materials are available?

The 3D printing style available is FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling).

Materials available for 3D printing:

MaterialCommon UsesComments

PLA,Polylactic Acid

BiodegradableCups & CutleryPlastic derived from corn, and is the
most eco-friendly choice, most common 3D printed material
Advanced PLARivals the strength of ABS and PETG, with the added benefits of being more printable.
PETG, Polyethylene Terephthalate GlycolPop Bottle
Plastic
Best used for parts that require more
strength. Recyclable
ABS,
Acrylonitrile
Butadiene
Styrene
House Hold Pipe, Injection Molded Parts Non-recyclable, strength similar
to PETG, harder to print with and
tends to warp.
TPU,
Thermoplatic
Polyurethane
Phone Cases BumpersFlexible material, for those
applications you need some
stretch or to act a bumper.
NylonGears, Rope,
Fabrics
High strength, and extremely
durable if you need strength,
this is way to go
Industrial NylonThe same as nylon, higher level of durability and strength.

We have a variety of colors in stock, but it depends on the material and the application of the product. Email don@dasinnovations.ca and ask away.

Why choose us?

With this rise online services for 3D printing, typically there is a disconnect for the technology and the customer, the online print quote estimator doesn’t take into account what is really necessary, more plastic, more expensive processes, etc. The price of $200+ for a single print, compare to what was really needed of $50. Our expertise will give you what you want for the best bang for you buck.

What does it cost?

The prices are based on the amount of the specific material used for your design and the 3D printer time used to create your design. The requirements of the prints will depend on the what you need out of it. Email don@dasinnovations.ca for a quick quote  with the model in .stl, .obj,  .step .3mf.

What’s the biggest that can be printed?

Currently 210 X 210 X 250 mm or 8.3 X 8.3 X 9.84 in. Larger Parts can be modified to be made in multiple parts, and reassembled by glue and other normal means.

Where we operate?

We operate out of West Kelowna, B.C, in the beautiful Okanagan valley. Shipping the finished products across Canada. Local pick up or hand delivery for a fee can be arranged. The added bonus of the local pick up and hand delivery, the opportunity for consultation is able to take place.
